Artisanal Architecture: La Paloma Special Shapes
Introducing the latest addition to Austral Bricks' La Paloma Range, Special Shapes. Available in three different forms, each brick is standard sized, but has been refined and tested using innovative techniques and strong architectural design cues.
Steeped in heritage, the Special Shapes range is defined by its Spanish influence. With a history of passion, colour and vibrancy, the new additions to the collection show the sculptural influence of Spanish architecture and design.

With the ability to transform buildings into works of art, the Tash brick was developed in collaboration with architects. Tash was created for sheer design expression, whilst retaining the durability and low- maintenance features of traditional bricks.

The Curved brick is a striking object in and of itself, however, when used on a larger scale, the effect is remarkable, with an almost ‘hand-woven’ appearance. The texture and form of the Curved brick offers expressive design in any space.

The Comb brick is eye-catching; created with architectural insight and the vast experience of La Paloma’s master brick-makers. The Comb brick offers flexibility and a rich textural palette. With an option to lay the bricks both horizontally and vertically, there are multiple design options within the one brick.
Created using a sophisticated technical process and shaped to provide stunning contrasts, each brick is a beauty to behold. Composed of a carefully curated mix of minerals and clays, which are prepared and crushed to create an exceptionally high-quality, fine finish, the texture and composition of the brick is incomparable. Striking as larger-scale architectural design, and equally elegant as a feature wall or façade, this collection is designed to inspire creative bold expressions in any environment.

Allowing the shapes to do the talking, the colour palette of the Special Shapes range is inspired by sun-drenches façades, light natural tones and tactile matte finishes. In two refined colourways, the three new bricks are offered in Azul, a charcoal with a blue undertone, and Miro, a warm off-white.
Brett Ward, General Manager International Marketing, Brickworks said of the La Paloma Special Shapes collection, “Unique to the Brickworks’ offering, the Special Shapes range tows the line between traditional bricks and art, providing a solid yet elegant style not seen elsewhere”.
Challenging the conventions of traditional brick, the La Paloma Special Shapes bricks are a contemporary update on the classic material. Offering a unique, playful design aspect, the sculptural yet unique bricks are sleek and contemporary.
Exclusive to Austral Bricks, the bricks in the La Paloma Special Shapes series are sure to distinguish any project that they are a part of. Combining heritage influence with the best of architectural design, these new additions create harmony between people & place.
