Brickworks is excited for the return of the inDETAIL Speaker Series.
Stephanie Little and Tony Chenchow are founding partners of Chenchow Little, an architectural firm based in Sydney, Australia. The practice is committed to design excellence, developed out of a thorough understanding of the client’s needs, the project constraints, and place.
Chenchow Little have received over 35 awards for their residential work including the Australian Institute of Architects National Robin Boyd and Eleanor Cullis Hill Awards, the NSW Institute of Architects Wilkinson and Aaron Bolot Awards; and The Australian House of the Year.
The work of Chenchow Little has been recognised by leading international and local publications and websites, including Casabella (Italy), Wallpaper (UK), GA Houses (Japan), and Architecture Australia. Chenchow Little were the first Australian practice to be included in Architecture Record’s prestigious international Design Vanguard (USA) 2010. The work has also featured in local and international exhibitions, including ‘Out from Under: Australian Architecture Now’ sponsored by the American Institute of Architects; and ‘Abundant Australia’ at the 11th International Architecture Biennale, Venice in 2008.
This event will be hosted by Stephen Varady, architect and collaborator, who shares Brickworks passion for architecture, design and innovation.

Tony Chenchow has led the design of many of the practice’s award-winning projects. His projects have won the highest Australian Institute of Architects Awards including the National Robin Boyd Award and the NSW Institute of Architects Awards Aaron Bolot Award.
Recent completed projects include the Coogee House and the Darling Point Apartment. Projects under construction include new dwellings in Glebe and Balmain.
Tony has tutored design at the University of New South Wales and the University of Adelaide, Australia. He has also been a guest studio design critic at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Tony graduated in Architecture from the University of New South Wales, with first class honours in 1993. During his studies, he won the 1988 Royal Australian Institute of Architects Kann Scholarship, the Royal Australian Institute of Architect’s National Biennale Award, the NSW Chapter Prize 1992 and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Prize 1992.
In 2008 Tony was a juror in the NSW Royal Australian Institute of Architects awards and in 2017 for the Australian Interior Design Awards.
He is a registered architect in NSW and Victoria.
