Nubrik in Traditional Chapel Red

Situated in the vibrant inner city Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, the 15-story T3 Office Tower offers easy access to Melbourne’s creative and cultural hubs, with close proximity to public transport, dining, and entertainment. Attracting many tech and creative industry tenants to the charming and culturally rich area. Recently, T3 Collingwood has won many prestigious awards such as the 2024 Harry Seidler Award for Commercial Architecture as well as SustainabilityAwards Best of the Best 2024. Additionally, T3 Collingwood has been recognised by the National Architecture Awards and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat for its sustainable and design-led efforts. Using sustainable timber and brick products, T3 Collingwood is a new measure of sustainability within commercial infrastructure.

The project includes shared social areas, spacious tenant terraces, public activation spaces, and premium end-of-trip facilities to accommodate various commuting needs. Featuring Terracotta window shades and Nubrik bricks to align with the theme of eco-consciousness and offers durability due to its specialised production methods. The Nubrik range of industrially pressed clay bricks was developed by Brickworks to mimic the look and feel of natural rock, creating a distinctive and organic look and a timeless finish through the subtle marbling and defined character. Utilising a natural resource that uses less energy than a regular brick to produce, this development reflects the city's commitment to environmental stewardship without sacrificing high-end design. The manufacture of the blocks also lends to the innovative focus of the build and the new products that are being created to meet the demand for sustainability-conscious builds.

“Innovation in sustainability has been a key focus of our work for the JCB team, and this is evident in the material selections for each project and site considerations.”

Selecting a locally made innovative brick such as Nubrik for this construction has more social weight than just its sustainability aspect. All Nubrik products carry a "Declare Label" indicating that they are classified as healthy building materials, free from toxins and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that can negatively affect human heart health and the respiratory system.

T3 Collingwood is Australia’s premiere Commercial build with mass timber and brick products, setting an architectural benchmark for the future. With material choices that draw focus to the future of commercial buildings, the build’s innovative resources and sustainability lens leads to a reduction in carbon emissions whilst providing a clean and health-conscious working environment.
