Introducing 5XL by Bristile Roofing

Bristile Roofing’s new 5XL range exemplifies the innovation, development and improvement of traditional roof and walling tiles. Manufactured in Spain, their latest range is crafted by Tejas Borja, pioneers in the export of ceramic roof tiles. The only company in the sector to apply inkjet technology within the creation of product finishes, eleven profiles were brought to life through cutting-edge BorjaJET finishing technology. 

The general process is similar to that of a floor tile inkjet printer. When applied to the manufacture of roof tiles, the richness of natural materials with the technical advances in ceramic tile production fuse. The result is an exceptional level of detail and realism, with finishes that replicate the look and texture of natural materials including slate, stone, marble, and oxidised surfaces.

The Ceramic Slate series, featuring Irish Green, Paris Ocre, and Nepal Orange, was developed through extensive study of natural slates from major quarries in Great Britain and Spain. The Ceramic Stone series makes it possible to create a ceramic roof with the colours of natural stone with options like Denver Iris, Denver Gold, and Austin Grey. The Ceramic Cement series is represented by Sidney Graphite, offering an industrial edge without compromising the practicality of tile. 

For a more avant-garde, weathered-metal finish, the Ceramic Oxide series introduces Tokyo Copper, with brown and orange tones designed to reproduce different textures and degrees of oxidation. The Ceramic Cotto series, highlighted by Ibiza Pink, captures the charm of aged terracotta, while the Ceramic Matte series features Leon Matte, emulating the uniform texture and depth of natural slate in a strong, dark matte tone. Completing the collection, the Ceramic Marble series features Roma Dark, crafted from samples sourced in Tuscany, South America, India, and the Iberian Peninsula to reflect the richness of natural marble.

They provide exceptional sound insulation, reducing external noise by up to 25 decibels - more than twice the reduction achieved by many other roofing materials. 

Their natural resistance to rust and corrosion makes them particularly well-suited for coastal environments, while their non-combustible nature ensures enhanced safety in bushfire-prone areas. In addition to their durability, the 5XL range has a lower embodied energy compared to several competing roofing products, making them a more sustainable option. 

The 5XL range also contributes to energy efficiency, with testing showing that similarly coloured tiles reflect more heat, thereby reducing the need for cooling inside the home. Furthermore, the 5XL range is both reusable and recyclable, allowing them to be relocated and installed on new homes without the need for further processing before re-installation.
